War Remnants Museum delivers a somber account of the horrors of the Vietnam War and other wars of colonialist aggression that have plagued the Vietnamese people. The museum's exhibits may contain a heavy dose of one-sided anti-American sentiment, but they well represent residual American--and other foreign--weaponry and the destruction it wreaked. Look for the French guillotine used to execute prisoners and for the unexploded ordnance stored in a corner of the yard. • Excellent museum! Best one I've been to in Vietnam. Everything is well translated into English and detailed to help you understand. The layout of the museum begins on the top floor and the rooms are numbered for you to follow. The photography exhibition is stunning! There are graphic pictures that may be upsetting for some adults or kids. But it is a MUST SEE. So much to see, read and learn. Price was 40k per ticket at the gate, incredibly reasonable.
  • This is a great complex that explores the major themes of the Vietnam War, ranging from war protest, war crimes, the long term effects of the war, etc. As an American I thought it was very well done and learned a great deal about the harrowing effects of Agent Orange, among other atrocities that occurred throughout the duration of the war. Each description is presented in English and Vietnamese so I didn't feel the need to get the avaiable audio tour. Spent around an hour and a half exploring the many floors and exhibits and feel it is an extremely impactful experience, especially when viewing some of the more gruesome photos of the war.
