Tumon — 7 nights

Lazing on the beach and cooling off in the clear water remain the most popular things to do in Tumon, the busiest resort town in Guam.
Step out of Tumon with an excursion to Ritidian Point in Hagatna--about 40 minutes away. There's lots more to do: tour the pleasant surroundings at Ypao Beach Park, observe the fascinating underwater world at UnderWater World, make a trip to Two Lovers Point, and browse the different shops at Guam Premier Outlets.

To see more things to do, reviews, and more tourist information, use the Tumon day trip planning tool.

Tokyo, Japan to Tumon is an approximately 7.5-hour flight. You'll lose 1 hour traveling from Tokyo to Tumon due to the time zone difference. Prepare for somewhat warmer weather when traveling from Tokyo in September: high temperatures in Tumon hover around 36°C and lows are around 29°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 30th (Fri) early enough to fly back home.

Indigenous, Spanish colonial, and American influences are all visible during a vacation in Guam, a Pacific island that forms part of the Mariana Archipelago. First settled by the indigenous Chamorro people centuries ago, the island was "discovered" by Ferdinand Magellan in 1521-- Spanish colonial powers eventually settled the island in 1668. Today the island is a U.S. territory, with many mainland U.S. citizens choosing to visit Guam as a visa-free way to enjoy the Pacific. Tourism in Guam focuses heavily on the island's picturesque beaches, extensive diving opportunities, and indigenous culture and history.
