You might consider the city of Budapest, divided by the Danube River into two distinctive cities--Buda and Pest--to be essentially one large World Heritage Site.
Get some cultural insight at Fisherman's Bastion and Matthias Church. Visit Buda Castle and Dohány Street Synagogue for their historical value. There's lots more to do: contemplate the long history of Heroes' Square, pick up some local products at Central Market Hall, take in the views from Szechenyi Lanchid, and view the masterpieces at Hungarian National Gallery (Magyar Nemzeti Galeria).
