City of Seven Mountains
A city famed for its underground music scene, Bergen also serves as the gateway to the fjords of Norway's western coastline.Kick off your visit on the 30th (Tue): stop by Julehuset - Christmas Shop, take in the waterfront at Bryggen, then get engrossed in the history at Hanseatic Museum and Schøtstuene, then explore the world behind art at KODE Art Museums of Bergen, and finally examine the collection at Lepramuseet St. Jorgens Hospital. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 31st (Wed): take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Ulriken and then hike along Vidden Trail between Mt. Floyen and Mt. Ulriken.

Nestled in a kingdom of mountains and fjords, the scenic village of Flam serves as a good base for exploring some of the most beautiful sights of Norwegian nature.Step off the beaten path and head to Naeroyfjord and Flamsbana Museet. Get outdoors at Brekkefossen and Rallarvegen. Step out of Flam to go to Voss Municipality and see Kayaking & Canoeing, which is approximately 1h 30 min away. There's much more to do: contemplate the long history of Otternes Bygdetun, trek along Flam Hiking AS, and enjoy breathtaking views from Stegastein Lookout.

You can drive from Bergen to Flam in 3 hours. Other options are to take a bus; or do a combination of train and bus. In August, plan for daily highs up to 19°C, and evening lows to 10°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 3rd (Sat) early enough to catch the flight back home.
