City of the Tribes

A major hub for visitors exploring Ireland's western regions, Galway serves as a city of art and culture, renowned for its vibrant lifestyle and numerous festivals.
You'll find plenty of places to visit near Galway: Doolin Cave (in Doolin), Cliffs of Moher (in Liscannor) and Burren National Park (in Corofin). Spend the 7th (Wed) among the memorable landscape of The Burren. There's much more to do: head outdoors with Wild Atlantic Way, explore the galleries of Galway City Museum, take in the spiritual surroundings of Corcomroe Abbey, and Head underground at Aillwee Cave.

To see maps, other places to visit, more things to do, and other tourist information, use the Galway road trip app.

If you are flying in from United States, the closest major aiports are Dublin Airport, Shannon Airport and Cork Airport. In March, daytime highs in Galway are 47°F, while nighttime lows are 36°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 9th (Fri) early enough to travel back home.
