East Anglia travel guide
Once renowned for the quality of its wool and a flourishing production of woolen products, East Anglia has remained a largely rural region to this day, with small market towns and picturesque villages. Proximity to the capital city and good farming conditions have always helped make this region one of the more prosperous parts of the country. Today, the southern area of the region serves as a base for commuters to London, with a rapid growth of urban housing. East Anglia’s main attractions are a series of small-scale holiday resorts, ranging from the traditional coastal towns to quaint fishing villages, which have retained their rustic appeal in the face of urban growth and modernization. Holidays to this part of the country will pull you away from the extreme tourism of the big city and give you a look into a more traditional English lifestyle.
