City of the Tribes

A major hub for visitors exploring Ireland's western regions, Galway serves as a city of art and culture, renowned for its vibrant lifestyle and numerous festivals.
Bunratty Castle & Folk Park and Kylemore Abbey & Victorian Walled Garden are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Get outdoors at Connemara National Park & Visitor Centre and Aillwee Cave. Get out of town with these interesting Galway side-trips: Burren Birds of Prey Centre (in Ballyvaughan) and Burren National Park (in Corofin). There's much more to do: get to know the fascinating history of Salthill Promenade, contemplate the long history of Poulnabrone Dolmen, and tour the pleasant surroundings at Eyre Square.
