City of the Tribes

A major hub for visitors exploring Ireland's western regions, Galway serves as a city of art and culture, renowned for its vibrant lifestyle and numerous festivals.
Go for a jaunt from Galway to Bunratty to see Bunratty Castle & Folk Park about 1 hour away. Spend the 12th (Fri) exploring nature at Connemara National Park & Visitor Centre. There's much more to do: cruise along Wild Atlantic Way, admire the striking features of Galway Cathedral, don't miss a visit to Quay Street, and appreciate the extensive heritage of Salthill Promenade.

For maps, reviews, photos, and other tourist information, refer to the Galway vacation planner.

If you are flying in from United Kingdom, the closest major aiports are Dublin Airport, Shannon Airport and Cork Airport. In May, daytime highs in Galway are 16°C, while nighttime lows are 7°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 14th (Sun) early enough to travel back home.
