Tamarindo — 2 nights

Surfing remains the main reason to take a trip to Tamarindo, as the beachside town is mostly known for its excellent waves.
Change things up with a short trip to Hacienda El Viejo Wetlands in Area de Conservacion Guanacaste (about 1h 25 min away).
