The capital of Sicily, Palermo was founded by the Phoenicians under the name of Ziz.
Start off your visit on the 12th (Wed): pause for some serene contemplation at Chiesa Inferiore, then admire the striking features of Norman Palace, then take in the architecture and atmosphere at Cattedrale di Palermo, and finally take an in-depth tour of Museo Archeologico Regionale "Antonino Salinas".
