Museum Speelklok displays a collection of self-playing musical instruments, such as music boxes, musical clocks, pianolas, and turret clocks. Here, you'll also see several of the quintessentially Dutch large street organs, or barrel organs. Opened in 1958 following a highly successful exhibit called "From Musical Box to Street Organ," the museum has developed a collection of automatic mechanical instruments recognized worldwide. Join the guided tour to learn more about the history of each instrument. On the tour, you'll also have the chance to interact with the items on display. My 4 year old loves this museum, we’ve been here a few times. There’s a nice cafe with a self playing piano, sounds exactly like live music, and a shop with beautiful gifts. They have guided tours...

They did a good job of soundproofing. The doors are heavy, rooms are well insulated, and several of the open spaces are enclosed in clear walls to trap sound. They really outdid themselves. You can enjoy each room without hearing another. The sink in the wc is interesting as well; you must turn it at the nozzle. And yes, the tour and music displays are cool.

Good museum for children as well adults if you have a fascination for old music boxes and those big music vehicles seen in town fairs in the good old days. The staff are very friendly and speak English and throughout the day there are multiple guided tours where the guides speak in both English and Dutch. Children can have a first hand at creating music too.
