Walk among apes and monkeys in a natural forest environment at Apenheul. Opened in 1971, the zoo was the first in the world to house primates in open environments where visitors could interact with them. Now home to more than 30 different primates, including bonobos, gorillas, and orangutans, the facility promotes conservation, as well as love and understanding of primates. Grab a front row seat at a feeding session. The knowledgeable staff member running the show will answer any questions. If you're lucky, a curious monkey might climb on you. Very nice zoo, so it's open and it's good to be amongst monkeys roaming around freely. Please take you own food though. It is horrible there! We paid 7 euros for a small sandwich that tastes...

Amazing place, not only for kids but for adults too! You are really close to the monkeys and you see them jumping around the park. Before entering, you are advised to put your belongings inside a closed bag (they are free and with different sizes). You can walk around the whole park without any problem and there are services inside (restaurants, toilet, etc.)

Very nice park where some of the monkeys are roaming free.. not all ofcourse. Enough places to eat and drink within the park. Just make sure none of your pockets and bags are open because these monkeys will steal anything! Very cool for the younger kids!
