Willet-Holthuysen Museum
Admire the opulence of the Dutch Golden Age, and stroll through one of Amsterdam's most luxurious historical residences at Willet-Holthuysen Museum. The house was originally built in the 17th century for the mayor of Amsterdam. After changing hands several times and undergoing a few modifications, Mrs. Willet-Holthuysen gave the house to the city, which converted it into a museum. A rich collection of artwork (much of it belonging to the previous owners of the house), is displayed throughout the rooms, which have been carefully preserved. After admiring the paintings, artifacts, furniture, and decor in the salons, ballroom, and private quarters, stop by the kitchen for a cup of tea or coffee. If the weather is nice, you can also visit the garden. The audio tour is free. Please check website for museum admission price and hours. Put Willet-Holthuysen Museum at the forefront of your travel plans using our Amsterdam trip planner.

Another big and beautiful vintage canal house. You have beautiful living room on the upper floor as well as big and lovely garden in which you can sit. Perfect for fans of vintage.

My favourite canal house museum in Amsterdam. Most of the furnishings are replicas of the last owners’ French inspired decor, but it’s really so beautiful and tastefully done. Love the artwork collection they have. Just didn’t have the opportunity to visit the garden which looks beautiful as well. It’s like visiting a mini version of Versailles. Love it.

Really enjoyed looking through this 17th century canal house. Great free audio tour was included which added to the information you received. My kids 9 and 11 also enjoyed it. Gave us a good glimpse of Amsterdam in the past
