Create an itinerary including The Cathedral of Bern
Rising over the old town, The Cathedral of Bern stands as the tallest cathedral in Switzerland. The structure's crowning feature is its 100.6 m (330 ft) tower, which affords views of the Alps on a clear day from the top. To get there, you'll need to climb about 350 steep stone steps, which take you past the original church bells. Built in 1421, today the Gothic cathedral is a Cultural Property of National Significance. Pay the small entrance fee to visit the tower, or enjoy a free cathedral tour of the main area. • The view from the top is amazing, but the trek up the stairs took more effort than I thought it would. Once you are there, though, you can see for miles. It helped orient us, and it gave us ideas...

  • This is a must see when in Bern. The cathedral is beautiful inside with the stained glass windows and lovely altar. There is a gift shop where you can buy tickets to go up the tower for 5 CHf...

  • The main church of Bern and perhaps the most magnificent one, the church has impressive historical carvings and statues on its entrance, in addition to its iconic tower. Entrance is free, but you can pay 5 Swiss Francs to climb it for a view of the city. There are also information boards that detail the church's story in English as well, which I really liked. If you need to choose only one church to visit in Bern, this should be the one. The church also has a relaxing park beside it.
  • It is a beautiful cathedral.but if you have seen London cathedrals then this is a normal one. Well maintained and not very crowded. Good location near cafes and restaurants. And shopping roads.
