  • Oh wow, one of the most beautiful catherdrals I have been in. Well worth a visit. As expected it has a tranquil feel to it.
  • This cathedral has two public entrances, one accessing the altar in the front, and the other brings you at the left side of the altar. In case one wants to enter while a mass is ongoing, please show respect and tiptoe to the benches on the side when accessing from the back. The architecture is amazing, the ceiling is all made of carved wood with paintings in between. The altar is an impressive golden shrine with an overwhelming amount of ornaments and paintings. On the side walls, it is unclear which saints can be seen, as there are no information panels around. At the time of writing, restoration works are ongoing right at the back entrance. The surroundings of the cathedral are also note worthy, as one can find typical town squares with impressive trees casting refreshing shadows over bars and restaurants. Parking places are rather difficult to find, and virtually nothing is accessible by wheelchair, but that is not an uncommon thing all across the island.
