Rising imposingly above Bergen, Ulriken stands as the highest of the seven mountains ringing the city. Make your way to the top, 643 m (2,110 ft) above sea level, for a sweeping view over the city, its harbor, and the surrounding mountains. Ascend via the network of rugged mountain trails or by taking the cable car that runs from the city center to the peak. Alternatively, hop aboard a shuttle bus from Bergen, which departs from the city's tourist information office. Once you arrive at the top, take advantage of the free telescopes to get a closer view of the landscape. Plan to visit Ulriken during your Bergen vacation using our convenient Bergen vacation maker website.

  • Very nice place. From the top I have seen amazing pictures of Norwegian fjords and mountains. I reached the summit with cable car line. New renovated gondola!

  • The best view of Bergen is from the top of ULRIKEN mountain. One can take gondola to the summit. Amazing views!

  • Great view - you can either hike up or get the cable car. There is a small restaurant at the top. The walk from the top to Floyen is about 15km and takes 5 hours if you are not an experienced mountain top walker. The first part of the trek is a bit confusing to follow as it is only signposted by small poles and you're going away from the end destination. Once you're along the ridge, it's easier to follow the tors. The terrain is quite rocky and lots of small ups and downs - you want waterproof, sturdy walking shoes and even then, it's not an easy walk. However, many locals will race past you and make the walk (or they might be running) look a breeze!
  • Absolutely amazing place. Can recommend hiking up to this mountain instead of using a cable-car, especially if the weather is nice. Even as fat person as me could climb to the mountain in 1.5 hours without any issues. The views are rewarding.
