Sant'Anna Arresi is a comune in the Province of South Sardinia in the Italian region of Sardinia, located about 45km southwest of Cagliari and about 20km southeast of Carbonia. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 2,629 and an area of 36.7km2.The municipality of Sant'Anna Arresi contains the frazione Porto Pino, Is Pillonis. Porto Pino has a spotless beach that stretches for almost 2km with dunes that can reach as high as 29m. As its name suggests, the importance of this area from a naturalistic point of view comes from the presence of the Aleppo pine, which is present in a dense wood of about 90ha. As well as the pines, squat and Phoenician juniper can be found all around. The rare kermes oak which in its bushy state is found only in very few places on the island increases the botanic interest of Porto Pino.
