See a Celtic farmstead at Craggaunowen, a carefully reconstructed lakeside village built next to a castle. An open-air museum with actors, this ring fort and early farmstead recreates life in the Bronze Age, while the castle dates back to around 1550. You'll see lots of traditional farming tools and techniques for making weapons. Check out the Brendan Boat, a representation of a vessel used by Saint Brendan of Clonfert to sail to Greenland in the 6th century. • A very nice castle, with lots of corners to explore. The authentic viking village was very informative and overall a nice place to visit. We had a very friendly, competent and educated guide we talked to for over an hour. He made this visit very special for us. The Woods surrounding the area are beautiful to walk in and merely touched by man. There were also some wild boars and a super sweet little piglet. 10/10 would go to the bronze age again!
  • Amazing place, just wow, and amazing service. If you love history, nature and wildlife this is a place for you. I can't wait to be back
