Create an itinerary including Malahide Castle
Home to the same family for nearly eight centuries, Malahide Castle sits just a few minutes north of the capital city, easily accessible by car or public bus. The estate dates back to the 12th century, when Richard Talbot (a knight serving King Henry II) received these lands as part of a royal grant. Talbot's descendants lived here until 1976, expanding and modifying the original structure over the centuries. Take a guided tour to see the interior of the castle, noted for its Talbot family portraits and decorative carvings. The surrounding parkland also contains several popular attractions, including a museum housing a large collection of antique dolls and toys. • If you are Malahide, or even if you are in Dublin, take the time to tour the Malahide Castle. Beautiful settings outside and in, with a concise and informative tour.

  • The castle and grounds are beautiful and we very much enjoyed our tour. The staff is amazing. I messaged about concert parking and got a helpful response and, even better, Julie-Ann remembered my question and sent me a link to parking reservations over a week later. I was impressed she remembered! If you do attend a concert, the venue is so great. It's spacious with plenty of vendors, restrooms, and water stations. We'd definitely attend another event here if we're ever back in Dublin.
  • It is a lovely area to visit even if you don't get tickets to go into the castle and gardens. You can come for a casual weekend walk as well. The castle is lovely, a little small compared to what I expected. The tour guide we had, Martin (sorry if I got the name wrong) he, was amazing. He told us all about the ghost stories, and his tour was entertaining as much as it was educating. Also ticket pricing; Adult €14.00 Child €6.50 Senior/Student €9.00
