Hit the waves at Lahinch Beach, a seaside resort and popular location for sports like kitesurfing, windsurfing, and surfing. The beach is one of the foremost surfing locations in Ireland, and the site of a world record in which 44 surfers rode a single small wave at one time. Perfect your swing at the 36-hole Lahinch golf club, or explore by cycling, hiking, or pony trekking. Take some time to learn about the area's long history--several earth forts indicate the area was inhabited in ancient times, including a prominent one believed to have been built by Danish Vikings. Beautiful beach with lots of parking and all amenities (toilets, cafe etc..).. However would definitely recommend checking the tide times before embarking if you plan to spend extended time on the beach.. We went there in afternoon, around 2 PM and the sea water had already engulfed most of the beach and within next 40-50 mins, what was a beach front turned into a promenade with waves thrashing its walls!!.. Nice little town also with lots of good eating options all very near to the beach/promenade front.. Next time hopefully we will enjoy more beach time..
Low tide or high tide this is a great place to visit and get a good whiff of sea air.. dogs are allowed outside the main season and they love the water . There's a river and sea so if you have a salty dog you can rinse it in the river .. check out dodi coffee in town and sit on the ledge on the prom with your coffee and admire the surfers.
