Kilmalkedar Church
A simple beauty surrounds Kilmalkedar Church, a Romanesque church founded in the 7th century by St. Maolcethair. Look for an alphabet stone with both 6th-century Latin writing and an inscribed cross inside, plus a sundial stone and holed ogham stones outside. Very cool old church. It is amazing how old it is and how well preserved some of it is. The surrounding cemetery also has some cool things to check out. The interpretative panels are informative. There is also a start to a cool hike here.

A fascinating site, everything from a sundial, Ogham stone, alphabet stone and a window called the Eye of the Needle . Lore holds it that if you can pass through this window you will go straight to heaven when you die !
