Lough Key Forest and Activity Park
Thick with trees and rich in history, the forests and castle of Lough Key Forest and Activity Park give you a glimpse of what old Ireland must have looked like. The tower and tunnels are all that remain of the park's estate, but it is surrounded by hiking trails and campsites that offer access to the countryside. Start your visit at the lakeside center, where you'll find maps of the area, as well as a place to book boat tours across the lakes. Try the tree canopy walk far above the forest floor, or experience a 47-room indoor obstacle course. Some activities require advance reservation, so if there is something specific you would like to try, check the website for ticket information. The Swans, the beautiful ducks, the exceptional sense of Presence and History arrested, in mid-sentence! The beautiful surroundings, even in winter: our visit was Wednesday, 15th February!

There is so much to see and do, from walking under the trees, to walking above them, from boat tours or rowing yourself, all in a beautiful setting.

Such a nice place to spend the day with the family,it has plenty of space to walk around and enjoy the view of the lake. There is a visitor center that offers many things to do and of course has some food and drinks. There is also a self guided tour through the tunnels and on the view tower, will cost you 10 euros for an adult. I would say it is a bit too much for what you see, but for one time it is not that bad. Plus your tour ends of walking over the forest, on the bridge around the tree tops, so that kinda makes it worth it. But you don't have to pay anything if you just want to spend the day close to nature. Parking will cost you 4 euros for the day, but if you spend more than 20 euros in the visitor center then it is free. All overall recommended spot. Enjoy.

We loved the place , even better with full sunshine 🌞 The free parts of the park are great itself! We did a walk also , as well as inside 'exit' games - little pricey but worth it. We had a great day out.
