Explore the ruins of Kos Island's millennia-old Asklepion Kos. In ancient Greece, an asklepion was a sacred healing temple where medicine was systematized and many were taught the art of healing. Of the approximately 300 asclepions, Kos Island's was one of the largest and best known. Explore the remains of this remarkable structure, dating to around 400 BC. See the medical school, temples, and thermal baths. Make sure to visit the highest terrace of the complex for views of much of the island's eastern side. Just imagine how it must of been 3000 years ago most likely with less trees the views must of been incredible! What's even so impressive is the precision of the craftsmanship cutting the bricks and columns used to perfection without the modern tools of today 👌😃

Good tea made immediately. Outside there are lovely views across to Dartmoor. One of our party ordered a toasted teacake that took 20 minutes or more to arrive.
