Create an itinerary including Frederiksborg Castle
Head to Frederiksborg Castle to explore the lavish rooms and lush gardens of past Danish royalty, now transformed into the area's national history museum. The oldest parts of the castle were built by Frederick II in 1560, but the majority of what remains today was constructed by Christian IV in the early 1600s. Walk the grounds of the largest Renaissance palace in Scandinavia to see fountains, sculptures, hedges, and a variety of flowers and other foliage. The castle is in the middle of Palace Lake and stretches across three small islands. Check out the large Baroque chapel, the lavishly decorated rooms, the Great Hall and Throne Room, and the contemporary Danish art collection housed inside. A small cafe in the garden is an ideal place to sit down and grab a coffee while taking in great views of the palace. • For sure 5 star! The castle itself is glorious. But the garden..it is just fantastic. There are a lot to see there. We spent about 3.5 hours there and still, we were not tired of it. Will definitely go back to this place
  • Gorgeous architecture and so much to see! Use the bathroom beforehand and bring a snack so you can take your time enjoying things. Beautiful grounds too if you want to stroll around.
