A place of pilgrimage for Shakespearean scholars from around the world, Kronborg represents one of Europe's most recognizable Renaissance structures and is a World Heritage Site. Built in the 1420s as a stronghold for King Eric VII, the castle shot to fame in the early 17th century when it inspired Shakespeare to use it as a setting for "Hamlet." Follow in Hamlet's footsteps in the soldier's quarters and storerooms, which stretch beneath the castle and contain a famed statue of the legendary Viking chief Holger the Dane. • I you like history and literature, this is a real Place to visit if you are around Helsingborg. My son and I we did enjoy a lot especially the “down basement” 😉

  • Super entertaining castle for kids as well as a very intriguing museum. The story laid put by the staff for the kids to follow was very well thought out and immersive, they all really enjoyed it! It was also interesting to learn about the rich history of this UNESCO site!
  • Beautiful castle and grounds to walk around. We didn’t make it in time to go inside the museum. But the views of the water are worth going. This is where Shakespeare wrote Hamlet.
