To see an exhibit featuring a collection of Danish crown jewels and regalia, head to Rosenborg Castle, one of the country's finest examples of Renaissance architecture. Originally constructed as King Christian IV's country house in 1606, the structure underwent several major expansion projects through 1624. The elegant castle sits in the middle of one of the city's liveliest parks and serves as a royal history museum. In addition to the famous crown jewels, which are displayed in the catacombs beneath the castle, the museum collection also includes a coronation carpet and the throne chair of Denmark. We had a great time here. Very interesting, with the Danish crown treasure and a very well preserved castle. This one is a must see in Copenhagen. One ticket gets you in both the Treasury and the Castle. The castle is unique as most of it is original from the 1600’s. Very cool!

The castle is small but beautiful. It was less busy than castles we've been to in the past which allowed you to take your time and admire the castle. If your ticket gives you access to the Treasury, that is really beautiful. Combined, the castle took us an hour and a half. That may be reduced if you don't stop to read the information they have displayed. We enjoyed our time there.
