Discover the city's rich heritage by strolling along Nyhavn, a picturesque canal lined by brightly colored townhouses, cafes, restaurants, and bars. Built in the 17th century, this New Harbor (as its name roughly translates), long attracted mostly rambunctious sailors and Bohemian writers. Hans Christian Andersen, who spent most of his life in this district, resided in houses numbered 18, 20, and 67 at various times. Today, the canal area attracts mostly tourists who come here from around the world in search of traditionally prepared herring dishes and the city's famous foaming beers. Don a pair of comfortable shoes, and start your tour at house number 9, the area's oldest building, constructed in 1681. Kind of confused as to why this is the number one attraction in the city. Its just an inlet harbour from the sea which some colourful buildings. Granted we visited in January so weather wasn't that...

We took the 1 hour boat tour which was great fun and informative. The guide was great and shared lots of great fun facts about the city and history. Stay low under the bridges as the space is tight!!

This was a beautiful place with loads of tourists as well as loads of Christmas vibes were coming from that... As there was a Christmas market as well as there was harbour to have a boat ride... With so colourful buildings.... It was a great spot to enjoy with friends and family. There were so many restaurants available over there and lots of cafes to have some snacks

Cute are with lots of restaurants. Nice area to walk and look at the boats in the canal. Near a main street for shops as well. It is one of the most photographed streets in Copenhagen, I have been told.
