  • This is quite a small local museum with some interesting exhibits. I particularly liked the info on the very short-lived convict outstation at Dunwich and also on the leper colony at nearby Peel...

  • A fantastic little museum. Entry is now $6 for adults. The people running it are super friendly and helpful but also leave you to yourself so you can absorb the amazing amount of historical information on display. A comprehensive insight into such gross injustices of the past it's really hard to wrap your head around it. But it's presented without fanfare or embellishment in an authentic, objective museum style with supporting documentation and oral history quotes from first hand accounts. Great gift shop with many local books for sale. Definitely worth stopping by with easy parking.
  • This was my first visit to this Museum and it was an amazing experience ☺️ If you haven’t tried the Museum Trail yet, you have to!! It was one of the most well thought out trails that’s not only education but also extremely interactive that immerses you into the history of the island. Can’t wait to be back!
