Take a break from the city and head to Lake Matka and Mountain of Vodno. Get some historical perspective at Old Bazaar, Skopje and Church of St. Panteleimon. There's much more to do: take in the architecture and atmosphere at Church of St. Clement of Ohrid, admire the architecture and history at Memorial House of Mother Teresa, get engrossed in the history at Holocaust Memorial Centre, and get to know the fascinating history of Macedonia Square.

Located on Lake Ohrid, the town of Ohrid earned the nickname Jerusalem of the Balkans because it was once home to 365 churches.
Take a break from the city and head to Lake Ohrid and National Park Galicica. Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Heraclea Lyncestis and National Workshop For Handmade Paper. Step out of Ohrid with an excursion to Clock Tower in Bitola--about 1h 10 min away. Next up on the itinerary: steep yourself in history at St. Jovan Kaneo, take an in-depth tour of Bay of the Bones Museum, and contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Monastery Saint Naum.
