City of the Tribes

A major hub for visitors exploring Ireland's western regions, Galway serves as a city of art and culture, renowned for its vibrant lifestyle and numerous festivals.
Venture out of the city with trips to Doolin (Doolin Garden and Nursery, Irish Crafts - Doolin, &more), Westport (Marlene's Chocolate Haven, Carrowholly Stables & Trekking Centre, &more) and Liscannor (Moher Hill Open Farm and Leisure Park, Cliffs of Moher, &more). Spend the 4th (Wed) among the memorable landscape of The Burren. There's still lots to do: explore the wealth of natural beauty at Connemara National Park & Visitor Centre, admire the landmark architecture of Galway Cathedral, explore the fascinating underground world of Aillwee Cave, and get to know the fascinating history of Salthill Promenade.

To see more things to do, photos, where to stay, and other tourist information, read our Galway trip planning site.

If you are flying in from Spain, the closest major aiports are Dublin Airport, Shannon Airport and Cork Airport. Expect a daytime high around 9°C in March, and nighttime lows around 2°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 28th (Mon) to allow time to travel back home.
