City of the Tribes

A major hub for visitors exploring Ireland's western regions, Galway serves as a city of art and culture, renowned for its vibrant lifestyle and numerous festivals.
Bunratty Castle & Folk Park and Aughnanure Castle will appeal to history buffs. Do some cultural sightseeing at Royal Abbey of Cong and Rathcroghan Royal Site & Visitor Centre. Venture out of the city with trips to Coole Park Nature Reserve (in Gort), Dromoland Castle (in Newmarket-on-Fergus) and Hag's Head (in Liscannor). Spend the 12th (Wed) exploring nature at Connemara National Park & Visitor Centre. There's lots more to do: see the interesting displays at Michael Davitt Museum, pause for some serene contemplation at Ballintubber Abbey, stop by Foxford Woollen Mills & Visitor Centre, and admire all the interesting features of Belleek Castle Museum.

Plan my Galway trip by asking Inspirock to come up with tips and suggestions.

If you are flying in from Brazil, the closest major aiports are Dublin Airport, Shannon Airport and Cork Airport. In April, daytime highs in Galway are 12°C, while nighttime lows are 3°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 16th (Sun) early enough to travel back home.
