City of the Tribes

A major hub for visitors exploring Ireland's western regions, Galway serves as a city of art and culture, renowned for its vibrant lifestyle and numerous festivals.
Bunratty Castle & Folk Park and Royal Abbey of Cong will appeal to history buffs. Do some cultural sightseeing at Aughnanure Castle and Boyle Abbey. Venture out of the city with trips to Dromoland Castle (in Newmarket-on-Fergus), Coole Park Nature Reserve (in Gort) and Hag's Head (in Liscannor). There's lots more to do: explore the ancient world of Rathcroghan Royal Site & Visitor Centre, see the interesting displays at Michael Davitt Museum, explore the striking landscape of Connemara National Park & Visitor Centre, and look for gifts at Foxford Woollen Mills & Visitor Centre.

Plan my trip to Galway with suggested itineraries provided by Inspirock.

If you are flying in from Brazil, the closest major aiports are Dublin Airport, Shannon Airport and Cork Airport. In April, plan for daily highs up to 12°C, and evening lows to 3°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 16th (Sun) to allow enough time to travel back home.
