City of the Tribes

A major hub for visitors exploring Ireland's western regions, Galway serves as a city of art and culture, renowned for its vibrant lifestyle and numerous festivals.
Bunratty Castle & Folk Park and Royal Abbey of Cong will appeal to history buffs. Do some cultural sightseeing at Aughnanure Castle and Michael Davitt Museum. Venture out of the city with trips to Dromoland Castle (in Newmarket-on-Fergus), Hag's Head (in Liscannor) and Coole Park Nature Reserve (in Gort). There's lots more to do: explore the ancient world of Rathcroghan Royal Site & Visitor Centre, explore the striking landscape of Connemara National Park & Visitor Centre, steep yourself in history at Boyle Abbey, and appreciate the extensive heritage of Salthill Promenade.

Plan my Galway trip by asking Inpirock to come up with tips and suggestions.

If you are flying in from Brazil, the closest major aiports are Dublin Airport, Shannon Airport and Cork Airport. In April, daytime highs in Galway are 12°C, while nighttime lows are 3°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 16th (Sun) early enough to travel back home.
