City of the Tribes

A major hub for visitors exploring Ireland's western regions, Galway serves as a city of art and culture, renowned for its vibrant lifestyle and numerous festivals.
Michael Davitt Museum and Thomond Park Stadium will appeal to museum buffs. Your cultural itinerary includes sights like Bunratty Castle & Folk Park and Royal Abbey of Cong. Change things up with these side-trips from Galway: Foxford Woollen Mills & Visitor Centre (in Foxford), Joyce Country Sheepdogs (in Shanafaraghaun) and Hag's Head (in Liscannor). Spend the 20th (Mon) exploring nature at Connemara National Park & Visitor Centre. There's lots more to do: admire all the interesting features of Belleek Castle Museum, experience rural life at Killary Sheep Farm, examine the collection at Jackie Clarke Collection, and contemplate in the serene atmosphere at National Shrine of Our Lady of Knock.

To find where to stay, ratings, other places to visit, and more tourist information, go to the Galway trip planning app.

In March, plan for daily highs up to 9°C, and evening lows to 2°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 24th (Fri) to allow enough time to travel back home.
