Start off your visit on the 9th (Fri): pause for some serene contemplation at Church of St. Panteleimon, then take in the architecture and atmosphere at Holy Savior Church, then take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Mountain of Vodno, and finally take in the architecture and atmosphere at Church of St. Clement of Ohrid. Located on Lake Ohrid, the town of Ohrid earned the nickname Jerusalem of the Balkans because it was once home to 365 churches.
Popular historic sites such as Heraclea Lyncestis and Church of St. Demetrius are in your itinerary. You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Saint Climent of Ohrid and Holy Mary Perybleptos. Take a break from Ohrid with a short trip to Clock Tower in Bitola, about 1h 10 min away. Spend the 11th (Sun) exploring nature at National Park Galicica. Next up on the itinerary: take in the spiritual surroundings of Plaoshnik, examine the collection at National Workshop For Handmade Paper, and take an in-depth tour of Bay of the Bones Museum.
