Western Australia travel guide

4.6
Beaches · Parks · Geologic Formations
Western Australia's almost 12,000 km (7,450 mi) of coastline is broken up only by oasis-like towns and cities. Most of the state, however, is an arid region of mostly uninhabited, infertile land with an untamed physical aesthetic. The harsh climate cultivates a laid-back lifestyle centered on the coast’s shaded enclaves and picturesque beaches. Australia’s largest state, with an area of 2.65 million sq km (1 million sq mi), Western Australia contains over a third of the country’s landmass but just 11 percent of its population.

The town is home to one of the longest wooden piers in the southern hemisphere stretching almost a mile out to sea and the oldest stone church in western Australia. Also check out the numerous restaurants, cafes, shops, and markets.

Joondalup travel guide

4.1
Marinas · Aquariums · Beaches
Joondalup is Perth's primary urban center for the northern suburbs. The center developed after Perth's population spilled into the area and began to demand shopping and culture. It's known for its energetic nightlife, especially on the weekends when the crowd traverses between bars and clubs on foot due to their proximity to each other. On the natural side, the lake and wetlands are a big draw. Both the lake and the center's bars are primarily accessible by foot, so be sure to bring your walking shoes.
