A major hub for visitors exploring Ireland's western regions, Galway serves as a city of art and culture, renowned for its vibrant lifestyle and numerous festivals.
Discover out-of-the-way places like Riverside Walk and Salthill Beaches. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Galway: Burren National Park (in Corofin), Ashford Castle (in Cong) and National Museum of Ireland - Country Life (in Castlebar). Spend the 4th (Sat) among the memorable landscape of The Burren. There's lots more to do: paddle through the water with a kayaking and canoeing tour, steep yourself in history at Poulnabrone Dolmen, look for all kinds of wild species at Burren Birds of Prey Centre, and take in the awesome beauty at Croagh Patrick.

If you are flying in from Australia, the closest major aiports are Dublin Airport, Shannon Airport and Cork Airport. In May in Galway, expect temperatures between °C during the day and °C at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 6th (Mon) to allow enough time to travel back home.
