A major hub for visitors exploring Ireland's western regions, Galway serves as a city of art and culture, renowned for its vibrant lifestyle and numerous festivals.
You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Kayaking & Canoeing and Derryglad Folk & Heritage Museum. Get out of town with these interesting Galway side-trips: Oughterard (Aughnanure Castle & Glengowla Mines), Kilkee Cliff Walk (in Kilkee) and Turoe Pet Farm and Leisure Park (in Loughrea). Spend the 16th (Sun) wandering through the wild on a nature and wildlife tour. It doesn't end there: cruise along Loop Head.

For where to stay, maps, more things to do, and tourist information, read Galway trip itinerary builder.

If you are flying in from Germany, the closest major airports are Dublin Airport, Shannon Airport and Cork Airport. In July in Galway, expect temperatures between 22°C during the day and 14°C at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 17th (Mon) to allow enough time to travel back home.
