A major hub for visitors exploring Ireland's western regions, Galway serves as a city of art and culture, renowned for its vibrant lifestyle and numerous festivals.
Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Joyce Country Sheepdogs and O`Dalaigh Jewellers. Venture out of the city with trips to Cong Abbey (in Cong), Dog's Bay Beach (in Roundstone) and Limerick (University of Limerick & Thomond Park Stadium). There's still lots to do: steep yourself in history at Rathcroghan Royal Site, make a trip to The Coffin Ship, and get to know the fascinating history of Riverside Walk.

If you are flying in from Indonesia, the closest major airports are Dublin Airport, Shannon Airport and Cork Airport. In January, daily temperatures in Galway can reach 9°C, while at night they dip to 3°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 2nd (Fri) so you can travel back home.
