A major hub for visitors exploring Ireland's western regions, Galway serves as a city of art and culture, renowned for its vibrant lifestyle and numerous festivals.
Venture out of the city with trips to Aillwee Cave (in Ballyvaughan), Burren National Park (in Corofin) and Cliffs of Moher (in Liscannor). Spend the 9th (Thu) among the memorable landscape of The Burren. There's lots more to do: cruise along Wild Atlantic Way, make a trip to Quay Street, get to know the fascinating history of Salthill Promenade, and stroll around Eyre Square.

To find other places to visit, where to stay, and tourist information, refer to the Galway holiday planner.

If you are flying in from United States, the closest major aiports are Dublin Airport, Shannon Airport and Cork Airport. In August, plan for daily highs up to 62°F, and evening lows to 51°F. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 9th (Thu) so you can travel back home.
