Pearl of the Danube

You might consider the city of Budapest, divided by the Danube River into two distinctive cities--Buda and Pest--to be essentially one large World Heritage Site.
Your day by day itinerary now includes BudaBike Tours as well as Hungarian State Opera House (Magyar Allami Operahaz). Satisfy your inner culture vulture at Fisherman's Bastion and House of Terror Museum. Visit Matthias Church and Janoshegy for their historical value. And it doesn't end there: admire the masterpieces at Hungarian National Gallery (Magyar Nemzeti Galeria), head off the coast to Margaret Island, pause for some photo ops at Heroes' Square, and snap pictures at Liberty Bridge (Szabadsag hid).

Kyiv (Kiev), Ukraine to Budapest is an approximately 6-hour flight. You can also drive; or take a bus. The time zone changes from Eastern European Standard Time to Central European Standard Time, which is usually a -1 hour difference. In August, plan for daily highs up to 32°C, and evening lows to 18°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 25th (Thu) so you can travel back home.

Home to many of the country's main attractions, Central Hungary offers a multitude of educational attractions like museums and exhibitions. The region also draws tourists for its cultural attractions like opera houses and galleries, as well as its architectural sights, including basilicas, churches, and bridges. Pest County, the only county within this region, contains the country's capital and most of the other tourist areas in the nation. For those looking to experience the natural surroundings of Hungary, the Pilis Mountains offer many trails for hiking and mountain biking.
