Built on seven hills, Lisbon has experienced a renaissance in recent years, making it the cultural star of Portugal.
Visit Mosteiro dos Jeronimos and Park and National Palace of Pena for their historical value. Take a break from the city and head to Parque Natural da Arrabida and Praia da ursa. Take a break from Lisbon with a short trip to Quinta da Regaleira in Sintra, about 36 minutes away. There's still lots to do: don't miss a visit to Belém Tower, admire the masterpieces at Museu Calouste Gulbenkian, and wander the streets of Rossio Square.
