Exeter is a cathedral city in Devon England with a population of. Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Kingston Lacy and Libbet's Well. Corfe Castle and Wells Cathedral will appeal to history buffs. Get out of town with these interesting Exeter side-trips: Longleat (in Warminster), Salisbury Cathedral and Magna Carta (in Salisbury) and Bath Abbey (in Bath). Explore hidden gems such as Church of Saint Mary, Whitby and 199 Steps. Get some cultural insight at Museum of Lincolnshire Life and York City Walls. Explore York's surroundings by going to Durham Cathedral (in Durham), Fountains Abbey (in Ripon) and Whitby Abbey (in Whitby).
