Queen Sirikit Botanic Garden, Mae Rim

The area is just exceptional with a lot of nature activities. On the way, just after the entrance, there is a banana plantation. It's nice to discover so many varieties of banana trees. There is also a canopy from where you can walk up to the jungle and have a sight on a valley of high and old trees. You can find also an arboretum and small waterfalls. But the main point, is the wonderful botanical garden. You can see a lot of flowers in the best conditions and the place is so wonderful to take nice pictures of flowers, nature and your family or friends. The best way to visit is with a motorcycle or by foot.

If you enjoy the beauty of nature, this is an absolute must. This is probably my favorite day trip from Chiang Mai. 100 baht/adult to get in. I think 50 for kids. We arrived right as they opened at 8 on a holiday Monday. Pretty much all of the first groups of tourists went straight for the canopy walk area. If you're there first thing, go straight to the glass houses and you'll have them all to yourself. Amazingly beautiful gardens! We spent about 2.5 hours there and could easily have spent double that. It does get very busy though.
