Explore the volcanic landscapes of Timanfaya Nationalpark, a mountainous area that has been frozen in time since the greatest recorded eruptions took place nearly 300 years ago. This national park forms the core area of a protected biosphere reserve. Access to the park is strictly regulated to guard its delicate wildlife, with only a few footpaths and a short rustic route you can explore by camel. The admission fee includes a bus tour around the interior of the park, with a narrated history of the area in several languages. Located just outside the northern limits of the park is an informative visitor center, with permanent displays and audio-visual presentations explaining the origins of the island and the volcanic activity that formed the park’s unusual scenery. Put Timanfaya Nationalpark and other El Golfo attractions into our El Golfo online trip planner, and watch your holiday take shape.

The park is well maintained but unfortunately you can't enjoy any freedom of walk. You will only be allowed to visit the volcanoes through an organised bus tour. more »

Beautiful scenery, which you will never see anywhere else. Effective demonstrations and interesting comments from the guide. more »

A wonderful experience visiting the volcano. Take the tour bus through the mountains to the top and see some spectacular views whilst learning about the history of how everything was formed. Once we arrived we visited the restaurant and were shown some impressive demonstrations about just how hot and powerful the volcano is. We watched as the man cooked chicken and fish from the heat given out by the volcano. A really cool experience and worth the trip. (4 hours approximately in total)

Spectacular volcanoes view, visit is must. I can't stop saying enough. Avoid the car queue by reaching early and avoiding peak hour, as it can easily take 1-2 hours getting upto the main area. Entry fees is quite high, but getting up there including bus tour is still worth in my opinion ;)
