Trip Planner: Africa / Madagascar / Antsiranana Province / Antsiranana (Diego Suarez) / Ankarana Reserve
Cross a deep ravine on a suspension foot bridge and admire Jurassic limestone formations at Ankarana Reserve, a wildlife reserve with some of the highest population density of primates in the world. Dark karst pinnacles, cave systems, and underground waters with dry deciduous and semi-deciduous forests cover 18,220 hectares (45,023 acres). Watch closely to see crowned lemurs, Sanford's brown lemur, Perrier's black lemur, brown mouse lemur, and dwarf lemurs, and you can also spot chameleons and leaf-tailed geckos. Many birds inhabit the area, including paradise flycatcher and the common jery. After you arrive on a promontory from where you see the tsingys, surprising geological formation. Then you start your walk on the tsingys and you pass over the bridge (which moves!) and then come back. Our great regret is that the guide (a young woman) gave us minimal explanations and was not particularly friendly. An enthusiastic guide would certainly have improved our visit experience. And be careful, you are told at the beginning that you have to take water but we do not tell you how much! We had too few and it also spoiled the visit a bit (we were in winter). The total price is also too high. We enjoyed the visit of the red tsingy much more.
A voir comme les tsingy rouges , mais moins impressionnant.Balade à travers la forêt à la recherche des baobabs et de lémuriens ou oiseaux. Puis marche un peu difficile dans cette formation rocheuse more »To see like the red tsingy, but less impressive. Walk through the forest in search of baobabs and lemurs or birds. Then walks a little difficult in this rock formation
