Symbolic of Japan’s economic rebirth after World War II, Tokyo Tower stands proudly at a height of 333 m (1,092.5 ft), defining the Tokyo skyline with its orange and white stripes. This lattice steel tower, modeled on the Eiffel Tower, holds a communications tower and two observation decks. Reach the decks by elevator or by climbing the 600 stairs to take in a view of the city below. Directly beneath the tower, visit the four-story building that houses restaurants, souvenir shops, and an indoor amusement park. Tokyo Tower Reviews
Walked a good 30min or so from Nishiazabu. We didn't go up the tower (since it was getting late) but walked around the base of the Tower. Was still a really nice walk. No regrets. Viewing the tower... more »
I decided to go to Tokyo Tower in the evening. If you have time, I recommend to travel by foot (from Hamamatsucho station) as I saw many interesting places including Shrines. more »
I went to Tokyo Tower originally to only see the One Piece attraction. However, when I arrived I thought I would enjoy all the tower has to offer. I was not disappointed. The One Piece museum is any fan's dream. It has fun attractions to keep you entertained, a live show and a themed restaurant, if you're hungry. I causally made my way through the exhibitions and games with a huge smile etched on my face as I recalled all of the moments that our favourite pirate crew have been through. It's a must-see for anyone who loves One Piece. I don't understand Japanese but it didn't stop me from having such a great time. The Tokyo Tower was next on my list. I purchased the full experience, which allowed me to head to the highest viewing platform. I went on an extremely clear day and I was able to see all the way to Mt. Fuji. If it was any clearer I may have been able to see mainland China. It was a little over priced for what you get but it's my first time on Japan and I thought it was a great experience.
Tokyo Tower is a major historic landmark in Japan. While vacationing in Tokyo, we decided that this was in important destination to include on our itinerary. Skytree is newer and taller, but the tower was part of Japan's reconstruction, with lots of history and a beautiful Eiffel Tower type of architecture. Walking to Tokyo tower was easy even with large crowds everywhere watching the outside show and waiting to take the elevator up. We stood in a long line that moved pretty fast. We had tickets in little time and before we knew it, we were heading up the elevator to the main platform. There is a higher platform which cost a bit more money, but our group was more than satisfied to look out from the larger main platform, which is still pretty high up and provides a great 360 degree view of the city. The main platform has lots of space for walking around all of the windows to get some awesome views of the surrounding city. You are pretty much free to shop in the gift shop and leisurely enjoy the view. If you get there in the evening, you can capture some beautiful sunset pictures. A glass panel in the floor provides a window to see all the way to the ground below. Tokyo Tower is a wonderful way to take in the beauty of the city and create some great memories to share over and over. It's well worth the visit.
