Santuario Santa Maria in Doblazio reviews

Walk from Pont Canavese to the shrine of Santa Maria di Doblazio. 15 minutes from the piazzetta Sant'Anna del Oltresoana district of Pont Canavese. The climb is a little steep but if taken calmly reserve views. Unfortunately you have to walk the paved road. Along the way you should dwell on nature at the side of the road that reserve small visual amenities. Joints in the square at the foot of the sanctuary you can turn left and after a few meters take the paved road to the village Sangiapiana. About 50 meters there is an old cemetery with tombstones dating from the second half of 1800. Suggestive photos and epitaphs that tell much of the time.See original

PANORAMIC Arrived at Pont Canavese, take the road that leads to Frassinetto. The sanctuary is located just after the detour in a stunning location. Come to think almost all religious sites, as well as cemeteries are located in places of meditation that they make you feel closer to the Supreme ... Internally the Church is beautifully painted and frescoed, but as you can see, it's not particularly symmetrical, more like a parallelogram in addition to square bell tower, there is a great round tower and this lets imagine that initially in this chapel was a guard post with the watchtower. Renovated in the year 1000, rebuilt in 1600 seems to have far more distant origins. ... tradition has it that mentions an inscription on the Arch of the presbytery, it would be the first church built in Upper Italy in honour of the mother of God, the third of Christianity ... is it true ...?! You can also visit the ossuary where were collected the bones scattered in the various tunnels and a short section of these. The remaining part of the tunnels is closed because it was dangerous. In fact under this church performed burials until the French Revolution, but the Napoleonic edict which obliged the perform burials far from inhabited places (for health reasons), was drawn up the cemetery, disused since 1929, which is see just off the road that rises to Frassinetto. Stop on the porch in front of the main door ... from there you can enjoy a splendid view and relax completely.See original
