  • We have wonderful weather when we visit this abbey. We can choose to view the ruin on your own, or with a tour of three quarters. We choose our own tour:) Pressure is being restored, which may be disturbing, but it is a good sign: we are working on it! The abbey is one of the most beautiful we have seen. Highly recommended if you are in the area and have time.

  • We stopped by Jerpoint Abbey on our way from Kilkenny to Waterford. It was a minor detour and worth going. We went Monday morning and pretty much had the place to ourselves. Very nice grounds despite the construction scaffolding. Was a chance to learn some local history and capture some picturesque shots. Just a note for those considering it - they did not take credit cards while we were there. Bring cash.
  • Just as in previous reviews the ongoing works take away from the photo aspect of the abbey itself (there are all on the inside) . But the car park is a fine size. the ladies taking the entrance fee were so nice and the place was spotless. It was clear blue skies on the day of my visit and there is loads to see, the arches and the stone work, the tombs, the engraving on the tombs and the carvings around the arches. The court yard is a lovely place to rest, relax and take in a different time for this country. We will never see anything like this again because modern building practices do not have this quality of finish. This is suitable for all ages and families and no climbing is required. Its a lovely place to visit and I'm glad I made it as part of my to do list. Cheers
