Perfect place to go if you are looking for a nice walk that's out of the city but not too far. So many different avenues and routes to go with plenty to see too. Really love returning here every time.... more »

t's a beautiful place - nestled in a historical estate on the banks of the Shannon. The architecture of the Universisty of Limerick is a wonderful blend of old and new - glass and chrome, with air-space-tunnels joining ancient family estate-house. It's a remarkable place - hosting Ireland's best academically as well as in sport and music. It also houses the country's best sporting facilities - the Irish rugby team used be seen regularly there training. Substantial art collections are also housed, dotted around various faculty buildings. It's well worth a visit. It's easy to get to - out in Plassey/Castletroy just off the main road to Dublin from Limerick city.
