To explore diverse animal habitats from the fringes of the Arctic to the African plains, visit Dublin Zoo. Founded in 1831, the zoo covers nearly 30 hectares (70 acres) and houses about 100 different species of animals. Boasting a renowned lion-breeding program, which dates back to the middle of the 19th century, the zoo plays an important role in the global efforts to conserve the world's endangered and threatened species. You can visit hundreds of animals spread across eight different habitats housing birds, bats, monkeys, crocodiles, tigers, turtles, and giraffes. Be sure to look in on the zoo's family farm, designed to teach visitors about modern Irish farming. Excellent highly recommend. Fabulous location within Phoenix park, excellent attention made to needs of the animals, other than the obvious 'freedom'. However, Dublin Zoo seems to be making a huge effort to make the animals and visitors alike happy and comfortable. Worth a day visit and visitor support. Highly recommend.
Great place to visit with a lot of things to see for a good price. Moreover, it has its free parking. The zoo is clean and tidy, with big spaces for the animals, that seem to be in good condition. It is a great visit, specially if you go with kids, one of the best zoo I ever visited.
