As tempting as it was to stay at the Castle, we felt that the Lodge would be better for families. We had adjoining split-level rooms which was a perfect set-up for our family of 4 with two teenagers. ... more »
Its. A. Castle. Well worth it. From the breathtaking initial approach over the bridge we felt in the lap of luxury. Staff were friendly and accommodating. The finishes and decor give a true feel of deep history. Complimentary golf is a major benefit, the course is beautiful. Easy to spend a day meandering the grounds and exploring the gardens. The path into the walled garden was well thought out..the reveal after the final turn makes you feel as if you are discovering a secret garden. Plants and trees from all over the world. I've never seen a forest like it! Redwoods and giant sequoias next to bamboo and Japanese maples is something you wont see many places! Take the time for the lake tour, lots of cool history and fantastic photo opportunities.
The highlight of our honeymoon. With breathtaking views, elaborately decorated interiors, and stunning castle grounds, this place outshines any other place I’ve stayed. The staff was wonderful, food was delicious, and room was clean and comfortable. We LOVED the falconry experience and even just walking the castle grounds around sunset. Could not speak highly enough of this place.
